Aerodynamic properties

The airflow or ‘flow field’ around an object produces ‘aerodynamic’ forces and moments. The forces on the airplane are lift, drag, thrust, and weight. Of these, lift and drag are aerodynamic forces. The airflow is characterized by properties such as velocity, pressure, density and temperature. These properties are calculated by the equations for the Conservation of Mass, Momentum, and Energy.
