Chapter 10: High Speed Flight

Supersonic flight is covered with respect to aircraft and engine inlet design and the effect on drag and stability of the aircraft. High altitude flight has been an enigma for pilots when flying the aircraft manually. The low density at altitude effects control sensitivity, buffet margins, Mach buffet, and introduces the ‘coffin corner’.
